I have never been a big fan of cabbage, just ask my Mom. But this dish has made me LOVE cabbage. Bacon does make everything taste better.

1/2 head of green cabbage shredded

1 cup bean sprouts

2 TBS bacon grease

4 green onions diced

2 cloves garlic minced

2 TBS sesame seeds

1 cup bacon crumbled

1 TBS garlic powder

1/2 TBSP black pepper

1/2 TBS dried thyme

  1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Put a large skillet on stove top, heat on high.  Melt bacon grease.
  2. Place onions, garlic, cabbage, and sesame seeds in the skillet, stir frequently.
  3. Once cabbage is slightly browned add bean sprouts and cook for a couple more minutes.
  4. Place fried cabbage in an oven safe glass dish and mix in bacon, garlic powder, black pepper, and thyme. Add more sesame seeds if desired.
  5. Cook uncovered in oven for 25 minutes.
