I have never been a big fan of cabbage, just ask my Mom. But this dish has made me LOVE cabbage. Bacon does make everything taste better.
1/2 head of green cabbage shredded
1 cup bean sprouts
2 TBS bacon grease
4 green onions diced
2 cloves garlic minced
2 TBS sesame seeds
1 cup bacon crumbled
1 TBS garlic powder
1/2 TBSP black pepper
1/2 TBS dried thyme
- Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Put a large skillet on stove top, heat on high. Melt bacon grease.
- Place onions, garlic, cabbage, and sesame seeds in the skillet, stir frequently.
- Once cabbage is slightly browned add bean sprouts and cook for a couple more minutes.
- Place fried cabbage in an oven safe glass dish and mix in bacon, garlic powder, black pepper, and thyme. Add more sesame seeds if desired.
- Cook uncovered in oven for 25 minutes.
