I have served this meal to many people, everyone loves it. This sauce is an amazing alternative to tomato sauce for those avoiding nightshades. Making a big batch of this sauce and freezing it will reduce the prep time drastically. I love freezing this meal and reheating it in the crock pot.
Meat balls:
1 1/2 Lbs Ground Beef
1/2 Lb Italian Sausage
1/2 Sweet onion, diced
6 cloves Garlic, minced
6 Basil leaves, diced
2 Tbs Italian Seasoning
1 Tsp Black Pepper
1/2 Tsp Sea Salt
- Mix by hand all the above ingredients and form the meat into balls.
- Place the meat balls on the stove top cook until browned, turning as necessary.
- Once meat balls are cooked add sauce and simmer for 20 minutes.
- Enjoy over Zucchini Noodles.
